The following organizations provide information for pre- and in-service education professionals.

American Federation of Teachers (AFT)
American Federation of Teachers is a union of professionals that champions fairness, democracy, economic opportunity and high-quality public education, healthcare and public services for students, their families and their communities. They are committed to advancing these principles through community engagement, organizing, collective bargaining and political activism, and especially through the work their members do.

Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD)
The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development is a membership organization that develops programs, products and services essential to the way educators learn, teach and lead.

ED.gov
The federal Education Department promotes student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access. ED is dedicated to: establishing policies on federal financial aid for education, and distributing as well as monitoring those funds; collecting data on America's schools and disseminating research; focusing national attention on key educational issues; and prohibiting discrimination and ensuring equal access to education.

EdPubs.gov
The ED Pubs web site is intended to help identify and order U.S. Department of Education products. All publications are provided at no cost to the general public, items include:  brochures, CD–ROMs, grant applications, newsletters, posters, research reports , videotapes, financial aid products, etc.

Education Week
Editorial Projects in Education is the independent, nonprofit publisher of Education Week and other high-quality print and online products on K-12 education raising awareness and understanding of critical issues facing American schools.

Education Policy and Leadership Center (EPLC)
The Education Policy and Leadership Center encourages and supports the development and implementation of effective state-level education policies to improve student learning in grades P-12, increase the effective operation of schools, and enhance educational opportunities for citizens of all ages.

National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education (NCPIE)
The National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education advocates the involvement of parents and families in their children's education, and fosters relationships between home, school and community to enhance the nation's young people education. The coalition seeks to: serve as a visible representative for strong parent and family involvement initiatives at the national level; conduct activities that involve the coalition's member organizations and their affiliates and constituencies in efforts to increase family involvement; and provide resources and legislative information that can help member organizations promote parent and family involvement.

National Education Association (NEA)
The National Education Association advocates for education professionals and uniting their members and the nation to fulfill the promise of public education to prepare every student to succeed in a diverse and interdependent world.

PDK International
PDK (Phi Delta Kappan) International, publisher of Kappan magazine, is a professional association for educators that brings together the top leaders, thinkers and doers to collaborate and inspire one another. By providing professional learning opportunities, targeted networking and relevant research, PDK helps researchers and practitioners deepen their expertise, elevate their careers, and ultimately experience better results.
